Update from Administrator – October 7, 2021

October 7, 2021

Dear Family Member,

I hope all of you have had an enjoyable summer as we roll into Fall. As you may know, healthcare facilities are mandated to have all their staff fully vaccinated. As of this date, we have 99% of our entire staff fully vaccinated with one staff person partially vaccinated. This staff person will be fully vaccinated by October 31st.

All new staff members hired on and after October 1st must provide documentation that they are fully vaccinated. We lost 4 staff members who declined to receive the vaccine by the October l5′ deadline.

We are currently coordinating efforts to provide a COVID-19 booster vaccine clinic to residents in the facility. Please note, that we will have to obtain written consent from the resident or responsible party to administer the booster shot. All our residents are considered high-risk for COVID-19 and are all eligible to receive the booster shot. As we firm up plans for the booster clinic, I will email you an update.

As of this date, there are O residents and O employees who have tested positive. I ask that all you stay mindful of the risks of large gatherings with people who may not be vaccinated. The Delta variant of COVID-19 has more than 1000 times the viral load as the previous COVID strains. If you have symptoms and do not feel well, please stay away from the facility and get tested. When you take your loved out of the facility, please have them wear their mask. It is still the best defense against Covid.

When visiting residents, please remember no more than two visitors at a time may visit their loved one on the patient units. Please take advantage of the good weather while it lasts and visit your family outside, it is the safest and healthiest way to visit. To those family members who have a loved here in quarantine, please remember you cannot visit them until after they have cleared the 14-day quarantine period. We do have tablets available for facetiming as well as cell phones.

Stay safe!
