Update from Administrator – June 16, 2021
June 16, 2021
Dear Family,
As we enter the warm days of summer this means more time outside in the fresh air for our residents!· We encourage you to take advantage of the weather and schedule an outside visit with your loved one if possible.
Unfortunately, we have had one staff member and two residents test positive this past week. The staff member quarantined at home and the two residents were moved to the quarantine
area. One of the residents has been released from quarantine and is back in her former room.
These positive cases did not have any impact on visitation. Family members and friends have been scheduling indoor and outdoor visits without any disruption.
We strongly encourage all staff and residents to get vaccinated. Residents who are vaccinated may participate in group activities and do not have to wear a mask. Unvaccinated residents may also participate in group activities but must wear a mask and socially distance from one another. Please contact your nurse manager if you would like your family member to get vaccinated.
We have recently brought back outside entertainment, and we will continue to incorporate outside entertainers into our recreational programs. As a reminder to everyone we do have various tablet devices for your loved one to utilize to access games, various communication tools, news and more.
Yesterday, June 14th was flag day. Due to the inclement weather, we held an indoor ceremony commemorating this event with entertainment and residents singing patriotic songs! We have taken down the torn the American Flag and we will raise a new flag soon. Stay tuned.
As of this date, there are no new updates to the visitation guidelines. Patient room visits are still discouraged as the patients’ roommate should not be in the room at the time of the visit.
We look forward to seeing you! Stay safe!
