Update from Administrator – April 29, 2022
April 29, 2022
Dear Resident & Family member,
I write you today with update to the COVID status within our facility. We are testing all staff and residents every five days and will continue doing so until we reach a consecutive 14-day period without having a positive test result. We continue to adhere to the CDC and RIDOH guidelines as is related to infection control. In addition, we are utilizing another resource available since we are in outbreak. CMS has referred our facility to IPRO which is a quality improvement organization who provides targeted infection control technical assistance to nursing homes experiencing outbreak. This additional resource is beneficial as IPRO will assist us and look at our current infection control interventions and protocols to ensure best practices are being
utilized. IPRO representatives are trained with infection control interventions and strategies and will offer suggestions and recommendations they deem appropriate and necessary to assist us during this outbreak.
We completed our weekly round of testing for this week and test results confirmed there are two more positive COVID-19 cases. Currently there are six positive cases. All positive residents are on the third floor in the designated isolation rooms where they will remain throughout quarantine. Fortunately, all have mild symptoms and remain stable. Our next scheduled day for COVID testing is scheduled for Monday, May 2, 2022. As always, I will provide you with update to any new information as is related to the COVID outbreak.
Next week we will finalize plans for National Nursing Home week which starts on May 8th• We are all looking forward to the fun filled festivities that are planned. Please be assured all residents will have opportunity to partake in the activities. Third floor residents are unable to leave the unit secondary to the outbreak however, activities will be available and offered to them on the unit. Jo-Ann our dementia coordinator and her staff remain creative and are enthusiastic as they plan for the upcoming nursing home week celebrations! Fourth floor residents will be enjoying activities on the unit as well as those held in the dining room on first floor. Please be assured that social distancing remains in place during all group activities. Stay tuned and look out for the upcoming photos of nursing home week which will be shared to our Facebook page. Be well.
Best regards,
Lori Levine, BSW, LNHA Administrator
