Update from Administrator – March 10, 2022
March 10, 2022
Dear Resident & Family member,
Please accept this letter as update to the happenings at Waterview Villa. We have a lot of good things that will be taking place but first, I’d like to share with you that once again, this week’s COVID-19 test results were negative. This is inclusive of both residents and staff. Since we have had two consecutive weeks without a positive resident test result, testing requirements have changed for our residents. While we continue to adhere to the CDC guidelines which have been adopted by the RJDOH, moving forward, only staff are required to test weekly. Resident’s, however, do not require weekly testing and will only be tested if they have had known exposure or, exhibit COVID- 19 symptoms. Visitors remain required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of visit or proof of a negative Antigen test result within 48 hours of visit and of course, masks are required for all visitors and staff. This past Monday we also held a COVID booster clinic. This went well and thankfully those staff and residents who received the booster had minimal side effects.
Now onto other happenings aside from COVID-19. Thanks to our MDS department, we are collecting humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine. For staff who wish to donate, there will be a collection box set up in the lobby however please feel free to participate. Changes will soon be happening on third floor. Our dementia coordinator Ja-Ann is currently looking to add memory boxes outside of each resident room. Our team is excited for this personal touch to be added so stay tuned as Jo-Ann and her staff will be reaching out to third floor families for assistance with collecting items and with creating the memory boxes. Our recreation department remains committed and focused with providing fun filled activities for our residents. This week we had a special visitor, Diamond from our corporate office who assisted Barbara and Susanna with a Karaoke activity. This was a huge success! Our home is beautifully decorated for Saint Patty’s Day and our dining department has planned a special menu to be enjoyed by both residents and staff.
As always, I will continue to provide you with weekly updates. Stay well…
Best Regards,
Lori Levine, BSW, LNHA Administrator
